What Does Your Last Inspection Report Actually Cover?

Common questions
Does this tell me my current contractor did something wrong?
No, and it is careful not to. It reports what the document does and doesn't show. A report not mentioning something is not proof it wasn't done — your contractor may hold a separate record. Everything it flags is a question to ask, not a verdict.
Do you keep my report?
No. The file is read once and not stored. It is your record of your building, produced by someone else, and keeping a copy isn't something you agreed to.
Do I have to give you my details?
No. You get the full read either way. There's a form at the end if you'd like us to talk it through with you, and it's genuinely optional.
What if the report comes back fine?
Then it comes back fine, and we'll say so. Plenty do. A tool that found a problem every time would be worth nothing to you and would be dishonest besides.
What does it check against?
The ordinary NFPA 25 and NFPA 10 expectations for whichever systems the document itself says are present — annual and quarterly inspections, the five-year internal pipe inspection, five-year standpipe hydrostatic testing, three-year dry system trip tests, extinguisher six-year and hydrostatic intervals, backflow testing, and whether deficiencies found were given a corrective action. Your local authority's adopted edition governs, which is why it flags questions rather than issuing findings.
